Another week another post: this time we are going to Barcelona! 💃🏻💃🏻
When I travel I always like to feel prepared for (almost) everything. Some of my travel essentials are: a Mary Poppins backpack, a fan (yes, like an abuela) and a book.
Day 1 – flying into the city.
Talking about books, at the airport I kept reading my first book by Zadie Smith and really enjoying it. I’ve been underlining every page!
From Zurich I travelled to Barcelona with my fave Swiss (and got of course my free chocolate) #notsponsoredjustloved
After leaving my luggage at the hotel I took the train and explored the areas of Carrer de Provença and Rambla Catalunya, ending up at this cute bakery – Boldú – for a coffee and a cute tiny dulce the leche treat.
To end the day, we had dinner at a place with a wise quote by García Marquez: «Love is as important as food but it doesn’t feed you». As Andrés Calamaro sings: «No se puede vivir del amor».
Day 2 – Full day in Barcelona.
This morning we started our day admiring the Sagrada Familia from outside and then proceeded to Parc Güell and Montjuic for a panoramic view of the city.
Today was again super warm during the day so I kept my meals light with some tapas. For lunch I ended up at Cañete, a busy and authentic bar with delicious local food that I saw Viaja y Prueba recommend in a video. Next door I couldn’t miss my coffee and alfajor from the Argentinian 100 Barrios.
After some shopping – mostly a pair of wireless headsets (Sennheiser!) at Fnac (because the old ones were falling apart) and a new iPhone cover and glass (because I broke both in the last month) – I finished my last day in the city at Maremagnum shopping mall by the harbor (invaded unfortunately by cruise ships).
Tomorrow we are going to the land of the Frenchies, stay tuned!
