On the Road: Carcassonne & Avignon

Carcassonne France medieval fortress The internet has been awful, but the last days have been memorable.
Last Saturday we left Spain on a rainy day and drove to France, to Carcassonne. Carcassonne France medieval fortress Carcassonne France medieval fortress Carcassonne France medieval fortress The sky decided to stop pouring just when we arrived and continue just in time for us to get into the bus. Do you see the creepy mannequin by the window? A perfect way to scare out kids and tourists 😂Some people knew only the game Carcassonne, some others like me only the name of the city, but all were fascinated by its cobble stoned streets and towers and hidden alleys. It’s stuck in time so much that I felt like I was the one from another century that by mistake ended up in another world.

Avignon the next day was a sunny surprise everyone enjoyed.

We loved the Pont d’Avignon for the view and the Palais des Papes to understand how it was to live at the time this was used. The tablets to scan the rooms made the visit interactive and fun and compensated for the emptiness of the place. Both cities were characteristic and easy to navigate and definitely perfect for kids and/or a chill vacation. I would 100% come back!

Next stop: Nice!
