Welcome to my coffee shop

a space to step away from what you’ve inherited and dream up a life that feels more like you.

Coffee With Ella is for women of colour (and the creatively curious) drawn towards a way of life that feels more intentional, expansive and your own.

Right here, right now, on an ordinary Tuesday.

I believe a creative life isn’t something you earn or that’s reserved for the few.

creative life

/ˈkriːeɪtɪv laɪf/

A way of living where creativity isn’t separate from your life, but woven into how you think, choose, and show up in your everyday — on the page and far beyond it.

Around here, creativity is something you remember, return to and choose (again and again) on an ordinary Tuesday.

Because what’s often in the way isn’t you. It’s what you’ve inherited. I’m talking about the doubt, fear, and “who do you think you are” thoughts that you’re looping on repeat. These aren’t personal failures but patterns, beliefs and expectations you’ve learned.

When you begin to question and loosen your grip on them, I promise something new will start to surface.

Around here, the work tends to look something like this:

First, we play

Next, we follow the breadcrumbs

Then, we try things on.

After that,
we notice

From there,
we make it
our own.

Finally, we share it on our terms.

(If you’d like to read more about my creative process, you can do that here.)

If you’d like to linger a little longer — to sit at that corner table, coffee in hand and stay in the conversation — you’re welcome to join A Little More, Please.

This is my monthly-ish love note, sent from the corner of my favourite coffee shop straight to your inbox. It’s where I share what I’m thinking about, reading and alchemising — on and off the page.
